The Garrettsville Curtains up Theatre is happy to announce that its 20th anniversary production, “The Phantom of the Opera” (non-musical version), by Gene Traylor with permission from the Dramatic Publishing Company, will feature five performances in January 2026.
The Garrettsville is holding auditions for “Phantom of the Opera” (non-musical) at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 11 and 13 at the James A. Garfield Iva Walker Auditorium, 10233 S.R. 88, Garrettsville. The show dates are Jan. 16, 17, 18, 23 and 24.
The Garrettsville Fall Fest merged into the Garrettsville Oktoberfest, and from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 it will be held in downtown Garrettsville. There will be accordion music from noon until 2 p.m., with local restaurants serving up some traditional Oktoberfest foods such as Oktoberfest beer, kielbasa sandwiches, hasenpfeffer with potatoes, schnitzel, kraut balls and pretzels at Garrett’s Mill, with Slim & Jumbo’s offering wurst platters and schnitzel. On May 10, the James A. Garfield Track and Field athletes hosted their first meet in more than 20 years. After a long time coming, the Track and Field Complex was opened and celebrated with a ribbon cutting.

Garrettsville is never without fun events. St. Patrick’s Day will again be celebrated with the Green Luck of the Irish throughout town: petting zoo, and horse and wagon rides on the corner of Main and Center from 4 to 7 p.m., weather permitting. Each restaurant will offer great Irish food, all available on Monday, March 17. There will also be face painting at the Mill.
