The Nelson Garrettsville Community Cupboard is hosting its annual Murder Mystery Dinner presented by the Murder Mystery group from Garrettsville Curtains up Theatre. On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Buckeye Block will turn into the location of a murder. Your job: Figure out who did it, how they did it and why they did it. Be a detective for the day. Enjoy a tailgate-style meal, collect clues at local (in walking distance) businesses. Tickets are available for $35 per person or $60 per couple. Three local authors will autograph and showcase their books at the Hiram Beer and Wine Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27 on Hayden Street in Hiram. Jackie Lishing, the author of the "Diva Difference Maker Books," Mistie D. Obreza, author of "Broken and Splintered," and Cambree from the "Cambree’s Adventure Series" will be available with Kamper, her best friend, for belly rubs and autographs.

Thank you to Pochedly’s Greenhouses for providing the autumn decorations for use by the Beautification Fund for an autumn feel to our Main Street. The funds from the beautification fund are held with the Chamber of Commerce but raised by the Curtains up Theatre and their Sip n Shop festival held in July. A portion of the proceeds of the Sip n Shop are held for the beautification fund to provide the fall and Christmas decorations on Main Street.
