OSU Extension Portage County held its annual celebration on Oct. 9th, 2022 at Wingfoot Lake State Park to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our 4-H volunteers as well as the Gold Medal and Youth Award winners. Thank you to the wonderful donors and exceptional volunteers who make Portage County a stronger community.
The 11th annual Rootstown Youth Football & Cheerleading Pig Roast will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Randolph Knights of Columbus Hall at 25 Teed Dr. The night will include a gun raffle, a 50/50 raffle, a Chinese auction, live auctions, side boards, side games and a liquor bar.

Kent will be in the path of totality during the solar eclipse, which will occur on the afternoon of Monday, April 8. Totality, or a total solar eclipse, is when the moon passes directly between the earth and sun in relation to specific points on earth’s surface, completely blocking out the sun.

The St. Ambrose St. Patrick’s Day Reverse Raffle Dinner is back to being held at Sugar Bush. The event on March 16 includes dinner, coffee, iced tea, cash bar, DJ, reverse raffle, 50/50, and a Chinese auction. Tickets are $100 for two meals and one number, grand prize is $1,000.
On Dec. 16, Palmyra United Methodist Church’s United Women of Faith will participate in National Wreaths Across America Day.
