Hello Windham Family! Post-Labor Day in Bomber Country always seems to be a turning point or symbolic start of a new year. September has a back-to-school/new year vibe that is hard for me to ignore. Author Gretchen Rubin first remarked that “September is the other January” in her book “Happier at Home.” Gretchen noted that “Each year, Labor Day was a milestone that provoked self-evaluation and reflection.”

August is such a special time in Bomber Country. Fall sports are gearing up, the excitement of back-to-school is in the air, and hints of autumn are beginning to show. More than just a change in the calendar, back-to-school season carries a feeling of anticipation, renewal and possibility. As students head back to class after a long summer break, we welcome a new school year filled with opportunities, growth and fresh beginnings.

April showers bring May flowers in Bomber Country. Unfortunately, thus far it has been a cold, rainy and snowy April. This old saying helps us remember: a period of discomfort or hardship can provide the basis for a period of happiness and joy. Looking forward to warmer days ahead. Happy March, Bomber Country! The time has changed, and longer days are on the horizon. Seeing the sun up past 7 p.m. has done wonders for my soul.
