Main Street Ravenna’s Winter Writing Festival will be coming up this weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 in downtown Ravenna. This year’s featured guest speaker is local author Julie Hatcher, who’s latest title, "Not Quite By the Book," will be released at the beginning of March.
Southeast Youth Baseball and Softball are currently holding registration online at www.leaguelineup.com/seyouthbaseballandsoftball until Feb. 28. The organization is for boys and girls ages 4 to 14 years old.

Edinburg United Church, located at 4081 Rock Spring Rd., has been busy giving back and helping the community.
Edinburg United Church hosted 59 kids for Vacation Bible School this past August. There were 40 volunteers helping kids craft, sing, play games and dive into Scripture while exploring a friendship with God with a scuba theme.
The Edinburg Ohio Historical Society hosted its first guest speakers at its September meeting, held recently at Town Hall.
This year’s Portage County Randolph Fair runs through Aug. 25. Tickets for events are on sale at www.randolphfair.com. The fairgrounds are located at 4215 Fairground Rd.
Halliday’s Winery will be holding their second annual Summer Maker’s Mart from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 27. There will be many local vendors participating in the event and a great time to shop small. The winery is located at 2400 NE River Road, Lake Milton.
It’s that time of year again for Vacation Bible School, and Edinburg United Church will be holding theirs from 6 to 8 p.m. July 8 to 12. The program is for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade, and registration is free.
Southeast Music Boosters will be hosting a car show from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 25 in the high school parking lot. There will be a DJ, food, live performances from the jazz band and swing choir, vendors and trophies. All proceeds benefit all of the music students, kindergarten through 12th grade.
The first-ever Pirate Community Day is almost here. Come to Southeast High School at 8423 Tallmadge Rd. on Tuesday, April 23 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Southeast track. The event begins at 4 p.m.
