Aurora City Council on Nov. 11 extended its year-long moratorium on vape, e-cigarette, smoke and tobacco shops and on shops that sell any product related to CBD, cannabidiol oils or edibles for another 90 days.

Services are expanding at University Hospitals Portage Medical Center Infectious Disease Clinic where experts are available to meet patient needs close to home.

Local U.S. Postal Service carriers are not happy with a contract they’ve been offered, so they are planning a public protest in downtown Kent.
November’s ballot held a slew of local issues, including three that would have benefitted local schools, had they passed. Now school officials in Aurora, Mogadore and Ravenna must determine where to go from here.
Aurora voters faced 13 charter amendments in the Nov. 5 election and approved all but one of them: a provision that would have extended the time frame for convening a commission to review the city’s master plan from five to 10 years.

From the sheriff’s office to the White House, Portage County voters chose Republican candidates nearly across the board in the November 2024 elections, according to unofficial results released by the county Board of Elections late Tuesday night.
Portage County voters by and large supported renewal and replacement levy efforts in the Nov. 5 election. Every one on the ballot passed, according to final unofficial numbers provided by the Portage County Board of Elections.
