Rootstown

An update by OHM Advisors on the state Route 44 project was held Sept. 22 at Rootstown Middle School.

“This would be a revamping of the portion of state Route 44 by NEOMED and Rootstown High School,” township Trustee Dave McIntyre said. “We had about 200 citizens go through and ask questions and give their feedback and suggestions; overall, the responses seemed very positive. There were displays of where we came from and where we’re going in different areas. There were also a couple visual representations of what that corridor would look like in the future in that area. We’re trying to secure the funding.”

Rootstown’s Trick-or-Treat will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26.

Paris

State Representative Heidi Workman, representing the 72nd District, spoke at a recent Paris Township Trustees meeting, focusing on the initiative making the rounds that would remove property tax in Ohio.

Paris Township received a grant in the amount of $11,868.21 that will fund the replacement of several road signs throughout the township.

The township’s third annual car show Sept. 20 at the Shearer Community Center went well. Trophies were awarded in several categories, and the event also included a disc jockey and a food truck.

“The weather was nice. People enjoyed themselves,” township Co-Chair Dave Kemble said.
