The Silica Sand Road bridge in Nelson and Windham townships is about to be replaced. Construction on the $1,084,460 project will start this month, and the new bridge structure and accompanying road work are expected to be completed by October.

Balloon A-Fair will be held Thursday, Sept. 14 through Sunday, Sept. 17. On Thursday, there will be a children’s parade downtown. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Prospect Street and Spruce Street. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. The mini marshal is Maddox Patterson. The parade theme is “Nothing But Blue Skies and Ravens Flying High.” Each child who signs up for the parade will receive a goody bag.

Tuesday night they were both in the grandstand of the Randolph Fair at the demolition derby among thousands of Portage County residents. Even though Lauren was looking right at him, she didn’t recognize her husband. He was dressed up as a horse.
As a former Zoning Inspector in Paris Twp, Portage County, I would like to share my insights on the “he-said-she-said” article about Windham’s Zoning Inspector. The problem with the article is that it focused on who the new inspector is, not the true root of the problem, which is officials bending rules to make people happy. In this case written township Zoning Resolutions and county policies.

Use the right toothpaste for a blindingly bright smile. Eat your veggies. Exercise. Turn off the TV. Meditate. Lose weight. Lose the attitude. And don’t get me started on the never-ending soap opera of American politics.
