Talk On, an outpatient speech-language pathology company in Kent, recently began offering feeding therapy as another resource for the families they serve.
Our Beagle Boy Cletus had a vet appointment coming up and for once I was kind of excited about it. For the past several visits, we were told he had gained weight and the doctor was unhappy — with us. Us — because Dave and I have the power to control Cletus’ eating habits. Or so you’d think.
Ohio voters in November approved Issue 2, legalizing recreational marijuana in the state. State officials got busy writing rules and regulations and haven’t finished the job yet.

It’s that time of year again for Vacation Bible School, and Edinburg United Church will be holding theirs from 6 to 8 p.m. July 8 to 12. The program is for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade, and registration is free.

The Portage Animal Protective League on June 26 rescued almost 200 animals, many of them in need of medical care, from one property in Portage County.

A fundraising event for Elliot Thompson and his family, put on by the Windham softball community was held June 22 and 23. Elliot is coach for the 14U team in Windham and has been very active in our local softball program. Elliot had a massive stroke recently. He is in the Cleveland Clinic at the time I wrote this.
Suffield’s annual Memorial Day Parade, featuring perfect cooler weather, was one of the biggest parades ever for the township.
Born, or at least first settled, in 1799, the city of Aurora celebrates its 225th anniversary this year. Preparations are already underway, with T-shirts for sale on the city website.

Last week in Round Two, I discussed how almost nothing about college sports makes sense anymore, including simple math (the Big Ten Conference has 18 teams) and geography (two California schools, Stanford and Cal, are now in the Atlantic Coast Conference).
