Voters in several county school districts will be voting on additional levies, which almost always represent a tax increase.
Voters in the Southeast Local Schools district will not see Issue 26 on the November ballot after a unanimous Oct. 9 decision by the district’s board of education.
Voters in Portage County may see some renewal levies on their November ballots.
Voters in Randolph, Hiram Township and Sugar Bush Knolls will see replacement levies on their ballots.

Issue 29: Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities, renewal tax levy (combining two levies), programs and services, 2.9 mills for 10 years commencing in 2024, first due in calendar year 2025.
Issue 30: Replacement tax levy, programs and services, 1 mill for 10 years commencing in 2024, first due in calendar year 2025.
Issue 31: Portage Park District, replacement and additional tax levy, operating and maintaining parks, 1 mill for 10 years commencing in 2024, first due in calendar year 2025.
The Rootstown Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 at NEOMED at 4209 state Route 44. There will be some 40 vendors showcasing their businesses and passing out candy. There will also be a Trunk-or-Treat and a Touch-a-Truck with the fire department, service department and sheriff’s office.
