Commission notebook: New overflow room, budgeting help, EMA roof repair

With no livestreaming yet available, and with council chambers so small that meeting attendees are severely limited, county commissioners announced the creation of an overflow room. Instead of being ejected to the hallway because there are more than 10 people (including the commissioners, their clerk and public officials presenting information to the commissioners), attendees may now hear and view commissioners’ proceedings in a nearby room which has been outfitted with a large screen.

Rootstown trustees discuss zoning laws and flying saws

Rootstown trustees say motorists and residents should not be alarmed if they see some low-flying helicopters this spring. First Energy will be trimming trees around the township. The company often uses aerial saws to trim branches around power lines.Trustees voted down a proposed zoning change at a public hearing on April 13, to the disappointment of residents Jeff and William Parsons.
