United Way will Kickoff our annual campaign at the Midway Drive-In again on Thursday, October 6th from 6pm-10pm! Area businesses, organizations, residents, and families are invited to join us for a night of fun. Enjoy stories of United Way's impact on the community, meeting our community funded partners, live music, 50/50 and raffle baskets, free snacks, fireworks, and more! The event tickets are $10 per carload.
The fundraiser is open to the public at $8 for ages 11 and under, and $10 for adults and children 12 and up. Baskets will be raffled at $1 per ticket or six tickets for $5. Proceeds will go to the Deseree Liddell Minority Scholarship fund. Deseree Liddell's book, "The Higher You Climb, the Broader the View," will be on sale for $20. As part of the Better Communication = Better Communities Series, the KSU LGBTQ+ Center will offer Safe Space Ally Training. This training aims to equip community members with the tools for creating Safe Spaces and welcoming environments for LGBTQ+ people. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the LGBTQ+ community, find resources, and obtain the basics for making a difference in their own sphere of influence.
