Día de Muertos Celebration – Day of the Dead

This is the culminating event for the Drum and Storytelling Workshop – Stories of the Luo Culture of Kenya series!

Blending the traditions of Día de Muertos and Kenyan Luo Cultural celebrations of the Dead, this event will include costumes, heritage foods, music, dance, drink, honoring of our ancestors and those who have gone before – ending in a parade from Standing Rock Cultural Arts – North Water Street Gallery to the Cuyahoga River at Franklin Mills Riveredge Park where we will send off the Spirits of our Loved Ones.

Come to the month-long Kenya Luo cultural series or just this one night! Come as you are able to all events!

Also, offered are a series of mask making evenings on Wednesdays and Mondays 6-7:30pm 10/17-26 at the N Water Street Gallery, which will coincide with this series of events.
