It’s that time of year again for Vacation Bible School, and Edinburg United Church will be holding theirs from 6 to 8 p.m. July 8 to 12. The program is for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade, and registration is free.
The theme this year is “Scuba Diving into Friendship with God,” and they will be teaching that through games, crafts and songs. Kid Watch is currently looking for a childcare staff member for its summer program. Hours would be noon to 6 p.m. weekdays, with a starting pay of $11 per hour. Hiring expenses would be paid for by Kid Watch, and free school-age childcare is also included. Call Shelly at 330-850-5008 for more information or to apply. The Edinburg Fire Department is growing. Congratulations to Kylee Phillips of the Edinburg Fire Department for obtaining her new certification level of Paramedic. Kylee is a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and has since earned her EMT Basic Certification and completed Firefighter I and II. She also works for the Randolph Fire Department and is very committed to her profession. The department also has a new firefighter, Jacob Michael. He has completed Firefighter I and II as well as his EMT-B over the past six months and plans on completing his Paramedic certification next year.
This year’s Portage County Randolph Fair will be held Aug. 20 to 25. Check out the fair website to enter one of the many contests such as largest tomato, artwork, or to be fair king or queen. Ticket sales for events are underway on the website as well at www.randolphfair.com. The fairgrounds are located at 4215 Fairground Rd.
