Students of Southeast High School recently volunteered at Edinburg Cemetery with the Edinburg Ohio Historical Society and Edinburg Park Committee. The students all did a great job and were interested in learning about the founding families and veterans of Edinburg Township. Thank you to Julia Dillon and the student volunteers.
Linda Dillon has been working with Matt Kelly, Portage County Auditor, on recognizing Portage County as a Purple Heart County. Portage County will be officially recognized as such by the Military Order of the Purple Heart, which is an organization that recognizes and honors the combat wounded veterans residing in the county. Please join them at the ceremony to take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 28 in Pocket Park. Pocket Park is on North Park Way in downtown Ravenna in between Guido’s and Books a Go Go.
