The groundbreaking for Streetsboro’s new city center infrastructure project took place Sept. 21. There will be a splash park, an inclusive playground, restrooms and a new City Hall.

Ravenna city officials would like to clean up the mess from the demolished buildings at 645 S. Chestnut St., once home to Oak Rubber. But there’s one problem: Nobody owns it.
When I was little, my mother had a big, thick book filled with gorgeous full-color plates of some of the world’s most famous paintings. Mom made me wash my hands before I handled it, and I would spend hours lost in the pictures, as if it were my own private museum.

More than 50 years after Henry Halem designed a series of white glass sculptures inspired by the Kent State shootings, he decided to bring the imagery back to life, but for a different reason.
Paris Township contracted Davey Tree to remove 10 trees on Gilbert Road that were causing much havoc — including downed power lines — with the recent bad storms. The cost of the project is $7,200.

The pros and cons have been weighed between the two since the fake stuff, known then as AstroTurf, first made its appearance on the floor of the Houston Astrodome in the mid-1960s. The argument has raged since.
