Hello, all! We’ll start today’s Setlist with Ravenna, which rain or shine will celebrate Balloon A-Fair this weekend. Events will be held all weekend in downtown Ravenna and at the Portage County fairgrounds in Randolph.
Here’s a complete Balloon A-Fair schedule:
Ravenna Downtown:
Sept. 24
Children’s Parade. Mini Marshal is Zuree Beach. Parade theme is ‘Dream Big, Be Brave, and Show Kindness.’
- 5:30 p.m.Registration begins at the corner of Prospect & Spruce streets. Each child that signs up will receive a free goody bag.
- 6:30 p.m. parade steps off
- 6-6:30 p.m. Magic by Kel
Sept. 25
- 7-9:30 a.m. BAF Community Kickoff Community Breakfast for people who remembered to register by Sept. 2.
Sept. 26
- 7 a.m. Ravenna Downtown Parade Line Up
- 9 a.m. Grand Parade, judged by All American Judges. Grand Marshal is LaJoyce Harris. Grand parade theme is ‘Red, White & Balloons.’
- 11 a.m. Opening ceremony & Parade awards on the Courthouse Lawn
- 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Downtown Festival: Live entertainment & Demonstrations; Crafts, displays & food booths
Children’s Alley:
- Noon: Mike Hemmelgarn/Juggling/Ventriloquist show
- 1:15 p.m. Girl with Scales reptile show
- All Day: Zoo 2 Go petting zoo, bounce houses, obstacle course, and more.

Portage County Fairgrounds:
Use general admission gate off Route 44. $10 per person per day gate entry. Free parking. Children 12 and under: free.
No drones, firearms, bicycles, skates, skateboards or pets of any kind are permitted at the Portage County Fairgrounds. Only working dogs are welcome.
Sept. 25
