This week’s setlist brings us into the month of November and, toward the end of the week, our warm, dry fall weather looks to take a turn towards the more usual wet, chilly pattern we have become accustomed to this time of year.
This coming Sunday, Nov. 1, the Mountain Rose Concert Series held at Standing Rock Cultural Arts brings us a wonderful duo, with no shortage on talent: Grady Miller! The husband wife team are no strangers to the Northeast Ohio Folk scene, and are a quite enjoyable live concert experience.
I first heard them live at a Akron Food Bank benefit I was playing at the Jenks in the summer of 2025. They put on a wonderful three-song performance that was a crowd favorite that evening. So don’t hesitate this coming Sunday to attend this performance. You will not be disappointed.
Here is a short bio:
“Cathy Towns Grady (formerly Miller - now the band name makes sense!) is a songwriter, vocalist and fiddler, with a wide range of styles and influences. Her powerful alto voice commands an audience and her soulful songwriting brings the crowd in close. She blends blues, folk, and country into her own unique style.
Michael Grady is an award-winning, accomplished songwriter whose dexterity on the guitar (any instrument with frets, really) has made him a powerhouse in the studio and on stage.
His writing is thoughtful, powerful, and doesn’t fit into any one genre. Guitar, mandolin, banjo…whatever instrument has the right voice is the one that takes center stage. His lyrics are timely, funny, heartbreaking, tender, and engaging.
Together, Grady Miller creates a powerful blend of styles that captivates audiences with their variety and intensity. Their lyrics speak to the soul and take you along on a journey through the stories of life. They freely move between Folk, Rock, and Blues to Country and Irish fiddling, but the essence of their sound lies at the crossroads of the Americana and SingerSongwriter genres.”
Here is the Setlist for Oct. 28 - Nov. 3, 2026. Until next week, stay warm and dry, and I hope to see you out and about!
