Streetsboro car wash will offer free service to city police vehicles

- Staff Report ,

Streetsboro’s police cars may be a bit cleaner a bit more often thanks to a generous company policy.

Sgt. Clean Car Wash, which recently opened in Streetsboro, washes police vehicles free of charge in all cities where it has set up shop. Besides Streetsboro, Sgt. Clean operates car washes in Strongsville (north and south), Westlake, Parma, Massillon, Medina and Green.

Streetsboro police keep 21 vehicles, including patrol cars, unmarked cars and cars outfitted for K-9 units.

The department learned about the offer in an email from Sgt. Clean Car Wash founder and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Brian Krusz, who wrote, “We greatly appreciate your service to this community. This is our way of saying thank you for keeping Streetsboro safe.”

“We do appreciate it. It’s a very nice offer,” said Streetsboro police Lt. Richard Polivka.

Varner: Maddalena’s in Kent offers authentic food, at-home feel

- by Simon Varner. - by Do you remember going to grandma’s house for a family dinner? The way it smelled, the way the adults chatted while you and the other kids laughed in front of a TV playing colorful cartoons. Most importantly, do you remember the food? I remember, and Mandy Yannucci, co-owner of Maddalena’s in Kent, remembers, too.
