- Jackie Loreta-Rinearson

Homecoming is Friday, Oct. 4. If you’re an alumni band member, Mr. Cebulla would love to have you back to join the memorable halftime performance. If you are interested in being back on the field, contact him via email at tcebulla@jagschools.org – and don’t forget to let him know if you need an instrument.

The Nelson-Garrettsville Community Cupboard is set to host a unique and interactive murder mystery fundraiser that promises an evening of suspense, intrigue and delectable dining. This year’s event, produced by Curtains Up Theatre, will be “Murder on the 19th Hole” and takes place from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at Sugar Bush Golf Club in Garrettsville.

This captivating murder mystery will put attendees’ detective skills to the test as they attempt to unravel the perplexing case. Detectives of all ages are encouraged to participate in this exciting event, where the audience plays an essential role in solving the crime.

Tickets for the event are available at $30 per person or $50 per couple, and include both dinner and the murder mystery experience. This annual fundraiser is vital for the NGCC, as it helps provide essential support during the challenging holiday season and winter months when the needs of their clients are at their highest.

Also at Sugar Bush, the Curtains Up Theatre invites you to “The Price is Almost Right” fundraiser set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16. Cost of $25 per person includes heavy appetizers and great prizes, with contestants selected randomly from the tickets. Win the whole package behind curtain No. 1 or No. 2. There will also be a cash bar and Chinese auction.

Tickets are going fast, so don’t wait! Contact Elisha Bly for tickets at 330-958-0702 or elishacurtainsup@gmail.com.

“Charlotte’s Web” auditions will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 and Thursday, Nov. 7 in James A. Garfield Middle School’s Iva Walker Auditorium.

No monologue needed, we will read from the script. Directed by Jackie Loreta-Rinearson. Show dates are Jan. 17, 18, 19, 24 and 25.

Boys and girls ages 10 to 17 and adults 18 to 80 are needed. For more information, contact Jackie at rinearson05@frontier.com.

Great performance by the James A. Garfield marching band! The members of the JAG Marching Pride showed off their skills at the recent Solon Band Bash, where high school marching bands meet yearly to show off their stuff to other bands in the area. Once again, JAG crushed it.
