Around Charlestown: Christmas cheer in Charlestown, plus a welcome to new activity committee members

Charlestown was bursting with excitement Saturday evening when Santa made his annual Special Delivery to some lucky kids in the township. Santa and Elf Kerri were chauffeured to 12 homes by our fabulous firefighters. I was able to experience it first hand when the fire truck pulled in my drive way with the lights flashing.

My three grandchildren, Duke Sophie and Hank, along with their parents, Erin and Joe Ruggles; great-nieces, Tristan and Kylar, along with their parents, Tracy and Kelly Burt: my sister and brother-in-law; Janet and Rick Burt and I had all gathered for a Christmas party.

Santa passed out gifts, Elf Kerri gave everyone a candy cane and pictures were taken. All the while the kids were giggling, squealing and hopping around! For the finale, they hit the siren on the way out the drive! It was a great party!

On Christmas Eve morning worship will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will feature a short play, “Who’s Birthday Is It?” performed by the children of the church. At 7 p.m. there will be a candlelight service to celebrate the birth of Jesus. All are welcome to attend.
