An important part of cancer care is helping patients restore physical abilities diminished by the disease.
At University Hospitals Portage Medical Center, cancer patients have a valuable resource for this work in physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist Yevgeniya Dvorkin Wininger, MD, and a dedicated team of physical, occupational and speech-language therapists.
UH Seidman Cancer Center services at UH Portage are carefully coordinated and individualized for each patient by a highly skilled team. Resources include screenings and imaging, infusion therapy, radiation therapy, access to clinical trials, and nutritional and psychological support.
“A good day for me is when patients say my care helped make their everyday life a little easier,” said Dr. Dvorkin Wininger. “Cancer inevitably diminishes physical activity and function however improvement and recovery are possible. I love it when patients tell me they are feeling better and able to get back to doing the things they cherish most.”
At UH Portage Medical Center patients receive compassionate, personalized care close to home with the goal of helping restore quality of life.
