Portage County obituaries for June 3-4

Michael A. Oros

Mike was born on November 23, 1935 in Cleveland, OH to Steve and Anna Oros, He resided in Mantua Township and graduated from Mantua-Shalersville High School in 1954.

On July 12, 1958, Mike married Barbara Waller, and together they had three children, Gregory, Corinne and Jay.

Mike was a Mantua Township trustee and president of the Portage County

Trustees and Clerks’ Association.

In late 1958 while working for the Kroger Company, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Upon discharge, he returned to the Kroger Company where he worked for another 25 years. Mike retired at age 49 to became the US president of a Canadian cold storage company which had five facilities in the Dallas and Houston, Texas areas. He retired in 2000.

Mike was predeceased by his wife Barbara, sister Francis Sidoti and brothers Steve, John and Andrew. Survivors include brother Albert of Cherry Log, GA, sons Gregory of Baytown, TX, Jay of Corinth, TX and daughter Corinne (David) Rogers of Pearland, TX. Also surviving are grandsons Michael, Kyle and Justin; great-grandson Houston; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held June 5th, 2024 from 11:30 to 12:30 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, TX 75067 (972-436-4581) followed by a funeral service at 12:30. Burial with military honors will take place at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
