Paris Township road upgrades in the works

- Wendy DiAlesandro ,

Trustees approved chip and seal projects for Gilbert Extension from Kestrel Road to Cable Line Road, and for the post office on Wayland Road. The township owns the property the post office is on, so it is their responsibility to maintain it, Trustee Dave Kemble said.

Trustees are seeking bids to resurface Minyoung Road. They are hopeful the job can be done this year, but that depends on how long the bid process takes and when construction could begin. If it gets too deep in the fall, the material will not adhere to the road, Kemble said.

Memorial Day ceremony

Trustees are waiting on Covid guidelines to determine if they will hold a Memorial Day ceremony this year. Stay tuned: They expect to make their decision in the near future.

Bill could push school districts into more frequent levy votes

At the same time, recently passed laws mean schools are already dealing with changes to how revenue grows over time and how much taxes can grow in relation to property valuations.
