Rootstown

The Rootstown Sports Boosters will hold their annual dinner and reverse raffle Saturday, April 6 at the Immaculate Conception Parish at 409 W. Main St. in Ravenna. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The prize for the reverse raffle is $2,000. There will be a silent auction as well. To purchase tickets, which cost $75 per person, call 330-714-1334.

“It’s a good time, good fellowship,” township Chair Dave McIntyre said. “It’s a good opportunity to meet with other residents and support our local kids.”

The township trustees will begin getting bids at the end of February for the work that will be done on the road that goes through Rootstown Community Park, which is going to connect Cook Road and Case Avenue.

Paris

The bridge at the intersection of Newton Falls Road and Holcomb Road will stay closed until it gets some minor repairs this spring. It will then reopen until a new bridge is installed in 2025 or 2026.

The new generator is finally in place at Shearer Community Center and is close to being installed.
