County roundup: Spring cleanup and more coming to Paris Township

Paris’ annual Spring Cleanup will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 10 at the Shearer Community Center at 9355 Newton Falls Rd. Car and pickup truck tires will be accepted but will cost 50 cents per tire.


Paris’ annual Memorial Day service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 25 at Hawley Cemetery.


The township trustees will use part of their NOPEC energy grant to purchase a three-phase surge protector for the generator at the Shearer Community Center. The cost will be $898. The trustees will use part of the same grant to purchase a new refrigerator for the community center.

After public comment concluded, Amrhein and council members honored Sue Nelson of Sue Nelson Designs for her contributions to Kent’s community. Nov. 19 was declared Sue Nelson Day to honor her retirement.
