- Roger Gordon
Rootstown
The state Route 44 corridor project that would give a facelift to the area in Rootstown from Tallmadge Road to Dollar General continues to be looked into. Engineering firm OHM Advisors conducted a recent study on the topic; OHM will present its findings, including community-survey results, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22 at Rootstown Middle School at 4190 State Route 44.
The paving of Rootstown Road from Tallmadge Road to Five Corners will begin soon and should be completed by mid- to late September.
The base has been installed by Portage County Water Resources for the brand-new water tower adjacent to Rootstown Community Park that will replace the old water tower. The actual constructing of the tower itself will begin later this month.
State Representative Heidi Workman spoke at a recent Rootstown Township Trustees meeting. She focused on the property tax reforms and how she can help.
