The St. Ambrose 64th Chicken Dinner Festival will take place June 29 and 30 at St. Ambrose Church, in the hall downstairs. Come out and enjoy the music, games and delicious chicken dinners.
Garage sale weekend is just around the corner – May 17 through 19 is the big weekend to join all the other garage sellers. You can register online at 44231.org/shop. There is also a form in The Villager.
Sip N Shop on Main Street is a wine tasting/craft/artisan show that will take place from noon to 8 p.m. July 27 on Main Street in Garrettsville. We are currently looking for crafters interested in participating in this fun event. Come out and listen to music, sip wine (in the designated DORA area) and sell your crafts.
Profits from this event will be put toward the beautification of Garrettsville.

It’s time for the car cruises, and the Garrettsville Chamber of Commerce has announced the dates for this year’s events:
- Main Street Car Cruise: 5 to 8 p.m. May 25, music by Crazy Dave.
- Sky Plaza: June 22, music by Dennis Chandler.
- Main Street: 5 to 8 p.m. July 20, music by the Blue Cadillac Band.
- Roger Angel Memorial Car Cruise and Peach Social at the fire station: 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 10, music by Dennis Chandler.
- Zach Peterson Memorial Car Cruise at the Nelson Ledges Road Course track: noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 2.
The 100-year-old Time Capsule event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 6. There will be fun events going on all day, with the opening of the capsule beginning at noon.
The Garrettsville Curtains up Theatre is proud to present its performance of “Steel Magnolias.” Show dates are 7 p.m. July 12, 13, 19 and 20, with July 14 being the 1 p.m. matinee.
All productions will be held in the Iva Walker Auditorium inside James A. Garfield Middle School.
Tickets will be available at the door. Cost is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors over 65 and children under 12, and $5 per person for groups of 15 or more.
A benefit for Sam McGarvey is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at SkyLane Bowling in Garrettsville.
There will be a silent auction and 50/50 raffle. The $15 cover charge will include pizza and one drink voucher and a ticket for a chance to win a $100 cash door prize. Music provided by The Arrow Band.
