Around Edinburg: A big VBS turnout, free life-saving lessons, and more news from Edinburg

- Cathy Klein

Edinburg United Church hosted 59 kids for Vacation Bible School this past August. There were 40 volunteers helping kids craft, sing, play games and dive into Scripture while exploring a friendship with God with a scuba theme.

Not only did they have a blast, they also helped collect non-perishable food items and donations for the Palmyra Food Pantry to help the community. The week ended with a celebration that included the families enjoying the songs and verses the kids learned.

Around Edinburg: Celebrating Ravenna’s new book store

- by Cathy Klein .

On Aug. 30, I celebrated the Grand Opening of my bookstore in Ravenna, Books a Go Go. I could not have dreamed of a better day and cannot thank the members of the community enough for coming out to show their support. Thank you as well to the Main Street Ravenna organization and the Ravenna Area Chamber of Commerce for putting together a great Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
