Around Charlestown: Welcoming new pastors and getting ready for Halloween plans

There have been many changes at Charlestown United Methodist Church in the recent past. The most recent was the retirement of Rev. Norma J. Bates. Her retirement was marked with a brunch in the church community room following her final sermon Aug. 27.

While serving at Ravenna First United Methodist Church, Pastor Norma had been appointed to also serve at Charlestown part-time and had been here for less than one year. She had hoped to be here for another year, but those plans were cut short due to health issues.
