The fireworks display originally scheduled for July 3 but cancelled due to inclement weather has been rescheduled for Monday, Sept. 7, which is Labor Day. The fireworks display will be held at the Hiram College athletic fields and will start at approximately 9 p.m. It will be a festival atmosphere with food trucks and live music. All are welcome.

Start off your night with a brief reception featuring spine-tingling treats from 6 to 6:30, and then listen in as Librarian and local historian Kevin Gray shares an eerie history of the library and Ravenna. Afterwards, paranormal investigator Joanna Pratt will utilize professional ghost hunting equipment to help you look for spirits throughout the building, including behind-the-scenes areas not typically open to the public. This is an after-hours event. Space for 40 participants ages 13 and up. Those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Online registration begins Sept. 1. Same-day check in and registration will start at 7 a.m., the mile will start at 8 a.m. and the 5k will take off at 8:30 p.m. This race is now outdoors only with no indoor access to Aurora High School. Packet pickup, day-of check-in, and awards will be located in the large tent in the main parking lot. Restroom trailers will be located in the Walker Building parking lot.
