South End garden plans ice cream social to thank volunteers
- Wendy DiAlesandro
Volunteers and community supporters of Kent’s Thomas-Anderson Memorial Garden are invited to enjoy an ice cream social at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Garden, 1110 Walnut St. in Kent.
Attendees will join KidPower, the children/volunteers of the garden’s adult work crew, and Girl Scout Troop 90450, which comprises fourth- and fifth-grade girls in Kent.
Garden owner Doria Daniels said the social hour is a way to thank the garden crew and community supporters who have worked so hard to make the garden a success. Bring a lawn chair and relax while cooling off with ice cream bars, popsicles and other surprise cold treats.
Social distancing will be observed, and face masks will be provided.
