Portage Foundation awards spring grants to 14 local organizations

The Portage Foundation’s Grants and Scholarships Committee awarded $79,150 to 14 area organizations.

This year’s grants were awarded to the following organizations:

Main Street Ravenna, Project MKC, Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio, Haymakers Farmers’ Market, Boy Scouts of America, Flying Horse Farms, James A. Garfield Elementary School, the Portage County Literacy Coalition, UH Portage Medical Center Auxiliary, Western Reserve Land Conservancy, Portage County Combined General Health District, The Church in Aurora, Hope Town Recovery Housing and Children’s Advantage.

“Organizations receiving these grants will be able to provide much needed services in our community and we are thrilled to be in a position to provide this assistance,” Dr. Angela DeJulius, chair member on the Grants and Scholarship Committee said in a statement.

Earlier this month the foundation also announced $70,000 in scholarship support for 51 local students.
