Lars A. Peterson

Lars A. Peterson, 82, died Thursday, November 6, 2025, at The Kensington at Anna Maria, Aurora, OH. Born May 25, 1943, in Ware, Massachusetts, he was the son of Carl J. Peterson Jr. and Maxine (Fuller) Peterson. A long-time resident of Belchertown, MA., he also lived in Vermont and Florida before moving to Ohio in 2014.
Lars was a proud graduate of the University of Connecticut, and its Husky’s marching band. He served in the Army as a medical examiner specialist. Lars’s special interests in life included horses, particularly Morgans, collecting and selling antiques, feeding and studying birds, and gardening.
Lars was predeceased by his sister Carolyn (Peterson) Zalewski and sister-in-law Cheryl (Arslanian) Peterson.
He is survived by his brother Carl E. Peterson of Middleton, MA., his sister, Jane (Peterson) Moody and her husband, Jonathan of Garrettsville, OH, and brother-in-law, Alexander Zalewski of Baldwinville, MA; nephews, Jonathan Moody, Edward Peterson and Peter Zalewski; nieces, Claire Ward, Carol Zalewski, Elizabeth Zalewski, and Susan (Zalewski) Fritz, and five grand nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in the future in his hometown of Belchertown, MA.
