Harry Smith
Harry C. Smith peacefully entered Heaven’s gates on Friday, March 22, 2024. Born on September 22, 1941, Harry lived a good full life. During that time, he played accordion in a polka band for over 50 years, served as United Methodist Men’s president, Boy Scout leader, and youth leader. He also held all leadership positions on the local Lions Club and went onto the district as zone and diabetes chairman.
Preceding his death were his parents Harry and Violet, brother Harold “Richie”, and son Daniel. Leaving behind is sister Harriet (Fred) Lorentz; brother Howard (Lydinne); daughter Tammy (Mike) Simpson; former wife Nancy Smith; granddaughters, Chelsea, Melody, Rachel and Autumn; great granddaughter Ada and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240 on Monday, March 25, 2024 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 PM at Brimfield Methodist Church, 1235 Tallmadge Rd, Brimfield. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery.
