Kenneth R. Lowe
Kenneth R. Lowe, 86, passed away on June 6th, 2026 with Kaye by his side. He suffered from chronic pain the past 35 years of his life with a positive attitude and good humor.
Born on January 27, 1940, Ken was raised by his parents, W. Russell Lowe and Sarah Lewis Lowe in Solon, Ohio. He graduated from Miami University of Ohio as a Finance and Marketing major.
After graduation he joined his father in his insurance business, purchasing it in 1967. He formed the Kenneth Lowe Insurance Agency, which he owned for 41 years. During that time he received many industry awards for his excellent customer service. Simultaneously he served for 8 years in the Air Force Reserves.
Ken chaired a Kidney Foundation Benefit for many years. He was president of Walden Golf and Tennis for two years, and president of Walden Meadows Association for 12 years. Ken's love of sports, especially the Cleveland Browns, led him to become the president of the Cleveland Touch Down Club
All his life, Ken was an avid sports fan, golfer, and swimmer. In high school he was on the Solon Baseball Team. He was All State in baseball in 1958.
He was a low handicap golfer, winning many Walden Club championships. He loved going to his Florida home for many winters, and residing in Walden. Ken was a sentimental man, loving his family, friends, and pets.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Kaye of 40 years, his daughter-in-law, Nancy Lowe, his son-in-law, Frank Mahoney; grandchildren Caitlin Mahoney, Jeffery Lowe, and Stephanie (Kyle) Burke. He is preceded in death by his father, W. Russell Lowe; his mother, Sarah Lewis Lowe; sister, Carol Lowe; son David Lowe; and Kaye's daughter, Kathy Mahoney.
Ken's family would like to extend gratitude to his physician Dr. Franciska Kiraly and hospice workers from Caring Care.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ken's name to Christ Episcopal Church in Hudson, Ohio or to the American Cancer Society.
