Marian “Mim” Miley

Marian “Mim” Miley (nee Rusinko), 90, of Ravenna, Ohio, passed away on January 12, 2024, in Ravenna.
She was born on October 31, 1933, in Ravenna to the late John and Helen (Wanchick) Rusinko. Marian was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her warm smile and kind-hearted nature.
Marian worked for Ravenna Schools and Immaculate Conception Schools as a Title 1 Reading teacher’s aide. She had a passion for helping children learn to read by assisting them in creating their own books. She also had a talent for writing, starting with her column called “Mim’s Madhouse” in the Ravenna High School newspaper. Marian’s love for reading extended to her own personal enjoyment as well.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and served as a Eucharistic minister. Marian also dedicated her time to ironing the altar cloths for the church for many years. Her faith was an important part of her life.
In her free time, Marian enjoyed cheering on the Indians/Guardians as a devoted fan. She had been a fan since their last World Series win when she was just 14 years old. Marian also loved attending bingo at the Senior Center and trying her luck at the casino. She and her late husband, Bill, spent many winters as snowbirds in Florida, where they enjoyed fishing and flea marketing. She loved taking the grandkids fishing when back in Ohio and treating them to ice cream after their trips.
Marian is survived by her children: sons Steve Miley (Lisa), Scott, and Sean; daughters Sue Lewis (Kevin), Stacey Woolf (Rob), Sheila Poland (Kevin), and Stefanie Maroni (Paul); grandchildren Elliot Woolf (Ashley) Alex Woolf (Emily), Emilee Woolf (Bree), Jensen Lewis (Lauren), Makenna Kitchin (Trevor), Paige Henson (Chris), Tommy Damicone, Jonah Damicone, Jenna Miley, Raegan Miley, Ryan Poland (Hayley Lescsak), Meredith Poland, Andrew Poland; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Ted Rusinko and brother in law Paul Gasper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William “Bill” Miley, her father, John Rusinko, her mother, Helen Wanchick Rusinko, and her siblings JoAnn Gasper, Doris Gerren (Jim), Ben, Alex, Vic, and David.
Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Rev. William Kraynak, will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 11am, at Immaculate Conception Church. Contributions in Marian’s memory can be made to St. Jude or Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, Ohio. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Philip R. “Bud” Bailey, Sr., 79 of Freedom, passed away Wednesday January 10, 2024 at the Hospice House of Medina. On May 4, 1944 Bud was born in Amherstdale, WVA to the late Alfred Lee and Goldie Belle (Edmiston) Bailey.
