Portage County Job & Family Services collecting toys for children in foster care

Portage County Job & Family Services will hold a Presents For Kids holiday toy drive-through event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Portage County Administration Building, 449 S. Meridian St. in Ravenna. New, unwrapped gift donations will be accepted.

JFS is also collecting toys, gift cards and monetary donations now through Dec. 1.

Bring donations to the Portage County Administration Building, and proceed to the third floor window. Donations will be accepted weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Toys and other donations must be new and unwrapped. Donations for both events will benefit the 178 children who are in foster care placement through Portage County Job & Family Services.

A written acknowledgement for all charitable contributions will be available at time of drop off.

Gift cards and monetary donations can also be mailed to Portage County Job & Family Services, ℅ Fiscal–Presents for Kids. Corporate donations are welcome, as well.

New charity forms to support Aurora Food Pantry

The Aurora VFW Post 2629 and the Knights of Columbus Council 14186 have been purchasing food for the Aurora Food Pantry for several years, donating over $36,000 of perishable food yearly as one of their community projects. But the need for assistance is growing.
