Palmyra United Methodist Church to take part in National Wreaths Across America Day

On Dec. 16, Palmyra United Methodist Church’s United Women of Faith will participate in National Wreaths Across America Day.

Following a noon ceremony at Palmyra West Cemetery, 9157 Tallmadge Rd., the women’s group will place remembrance wreaths on veteran’s graves.

Anyone who wants to sponsor a wreath that will be placed on a veteran’s grave may contact www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/OH0372P. Cost is $17 for one wreath.

Volunteers are also welcome to help with the wreath laying. Click on the link on the website to sign up or just show up.

Around Ravenna: Warm up with these community events coming up this month

- by Angie Reedy. - by The 39th annual Celebration of Lights was held in December at the University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, hosted by the hospital’s Auxiliary. It was a successful evening and the committee wants to thank everyone who came, donated money or helped in any way for their participation, and especially Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes for its sponsorship.
