Introducing the Main Street Ravenna Youth Community Star of the Month: First up, Liam Wright

- Submitted ,

Main Street Ravenna will be highlighting kids and teens ages 5-18 in Ravenna every month for their efforts within their town. We want to start to foster a positive conversation around kids doing well throughout the community.

Liam Wright is Main Street Ravenna’s Youth Community Star of the Month!

Liam is a sixth grader in our community. Earlier this year, Liam was alerted to a Center of Hope flyer in regards to needing donations of Easter baskets. He asked his mother if he would be able to make up baskets to donate, and he solicited the funds himself from family and friends and also put the baskets together on his own (with help from his grandmother to enclose the baskets in Cellophane).

Liam raised so much money he was able to assemble 12 Easter baskets which he personally delivered to the Center of Hope for children in need!

Congratulations to our October Star of the Month, Liam Wright!

Main Street Ravenna will continue to accept monthly nominations for MSR Youth Community Star of the Month awards. Nominations can be sent in, emailed or submitted on our website. We are looking for Ravenna’s best community-driven young individuals!

If you know someone 5-18 that fits this description, submit your nomination today!

Around Ravenna: Warm up with these community events coming up this month

- by Angie Reedy. - by The 39th annual Celebration of Lights was held in December at the University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, hosted by the hospital’s Auxiliary. It was a successful evening and the committee wants to thank everyone who came, donated money or helped in any way for their participation, and especially Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes for its sponsorship.
