The Portage County Turns Purple ceremony was held May 28 at Pocket Park in downtown Ravenna. Edinburg’s own Linda Dillon helped bring this recognition all together along with the help of Portage County Auditor Matt Kelly. Many veterans, city officials and community members attended the event, which was capped off with the playing of “Taps” as a solemn reminder of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
