Around Edinburg: Celebrating Ravenna’s new book store
- Cathy Klein

On Aug. 30, I celebrated the Grand Opening of my bookstore in Ravenna, Books a Go Go. I could not have dreamed of a better day and cannot thank the members of the community enough for coming out to show their support. Thank you as well to the Main Street Ravenna organization and the Ravenna Area Chamber of Commerce for putting together a great Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
I started this adventure three years ago as a pop up shop and am happy to be in downtown Ravenna permanently. Not only is my shop an independent bookstore, but also place to bring the community together for book clubs, author events and other activities to come soon.
My store is located at 220 W. Main St., Ravenna. If you’re looking for a specific title, feel free to call the shop at 330-442-4226 or visit my website at www.booksagogostore.com.
The annual Ravenna Balloon A-Fair will be held this year Sept. 25 through 28 between downtown Ravenna and the Randolph Fairgrounds. Please visit their Facebook page at Ravenna Balloon A-Fair or their website at ravennaballoonafair.com for details on all of the events this year.
The next meeting for the Edinburg Ohio Historical Society will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the Edinburg Town Hall. The town hall is located at Tallmadge and Rock Spring Road.
The 13th annual Sportsmen’s Raffle, sponsored by Southeast S.P.A.C.E., will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Randolph Fairgrounds.
Tickets are available at several area businesses including Pettigrew’s Hardware, The Armory Inside Leonard Truck and Trailer, Randolph Home Furnishings, Sarchione Alliance and Sarchione Randolph. You can also purchase tickets online through EventBrite. Tickets are $40 each if purchased before Oct. 5 when they go up to $50 each. Contact S.P.A.C.E. at spacesoutheast@gmail.com with any questions.
Please send information to my email at CM101495@aol.com by the second Wednesday of the month to be included in the column and thank you.
