Around Edinburg: Back to school and a special announcement

- Cathy Klein

Several students from Southeast High School’s band and choir recently participated in the All-Ohio State Fair Band and Choir during the Ohio State Fair. Five of the choir members were also chosen to be Scarlet Singers and opened for the band Foreigner. Several alumni also made it back to perform with the band and choir as well.

The September meeting for the Edinburg Ohio Historical Society will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Edinburg Town Hall, located on the corner of Tallmadge and Rock Spring roads.

Don’t forget that the Southeast Schools Open House date is TODAY, with the first day of school being Aug. 28. The middle school supply list is posted on the school’s website at www.sepirates.org. That is the only current list on the website, but the previous year for the primary school is still listed as well.

I have big news for myself, in that I am opening a bookstore Aug. 30. Books a Go Go is located at 220 W. Main St. in Ravenna, and the grand opening will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Please call 330-442-4226 with any questions or if you would like to order a book. Customers are also welcome to visit the store’s website at www.booksagogostore.com.

Please send information to my email at CM101495@aol.com by the second Wednesday of the month to be included in the column and thank you.

Around Edinburg: Celebrating Ravenna’s new book store

- by Cathy Klein .

On Aug. 30, I celebrated the Grand Opening of my bookstore in Ravenna, Books a Go Go. I could not have dreamed of a better day and cannot thank the members of the community enough for coming out to show their support. Thank you as well to the Main Street Ravenna organization and the Ravenna Area Chamber of Commerce for putting together a great Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
