The Board of Elections announced special hours ahead of Nov. 8 election

In the run-up to the Nov. 8 general election, in addition to its regular hours, the Portage County Board of Elections will be open to the public as follows:

Tuesday, Oct. 11: 4:30-9 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 12 through Friday Oct. 14: 4:30-5 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 17 through Friday, Oct. 21: 4:30-5 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 24 through Friday, Oct. 28: 4:30-5 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 29: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 31 through Friday, Nov. 4: 4:30-7 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 5: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 6: 1-5 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 8: 6:30-8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. until the election is complete

Legislative update: Local reps take bipartisan action against data centers

- by Savana Capp. - Steve Demetriou (R-Bainbridge Twp.) and Heidi Workman (R-Rootstown) introduced H.B. 710, legislation that addresses the public costs and community impacts associated with data center development in Ohio. As large-scale data centers continue to expand in the state, the legislation aims to protect taxpayers, ratepayers, farmland and local communities from expenses associated with economic development.
