Friday, July 12, 10 a.m.
Class of 1972 Legends/Legendnettes Breakfast at Bob Evans Kent at 10:00 am.
Address is 400 Devon Place, Kent across the street from Mike’s Place. (We usually have this event monthly on the third Friday of the month, but due to our “70th Birthday Bash” celebration it will instead be on Friday, July 12. We will resume the third Friday at 9:00 am in August.)
4-11 p.m.
DORA (Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area) Gazebo on Franklin Avenue
Classmates will report in at the GAZEBO adjacent to the Over Easy at the Depot Restaurant. Look for the “Welcome Class of 1972” and “70th Birthday Bash” banner! Get nametags if you need one. Feel free to wear your nametag from the 50th Reunion, if you have it! Enjoy socializing with fellow classmates at the DORA and/or any of the local establishments in town. Special Treat! Enjoy “DJ Dave Worman’s” Rock ‘N’ Roll Show from the gazebo! The “Motormouth” of the South! Playing the music from our high school years! You do not want to miss this! And he will also be there on Saturday at the “70th Birthday Bash”! A double dose of Dave!!! BOOM!

Breakfast at any of the local restaurants/hotels of your choice. Some options include Over Easy at the Depot, Wild Goats, Kent State University Hotel, Tree City Coffee and Pastry, Bent Tree Coffee Roasters, Scribbles Coffee Company, Bob Evans, Mike’s Place or anywhere else you would like to go. Check the menu online before you choose.

This is a pre-sign-up event. Dress for the weather and for possibly getting wet. Footgear should be water sandals (no flip flops) or shoes that can get wet. A waterproof cell phone bag (can rent one from Burning River), sun protection. “The 70th Birthday Bash”
Kent American Legion Post 496, 1945 Mogadore Road, Kent, OH 44224
We will actually be there earlier in the morning, so if you arrive early not a problem!
There will be no charge for the birthday bash at the American Legion. If you wish to make a donation to the cause we will follow the same protocol we did for the 50th Reunion. Checks can be made out to “Class of 1972” in whatever amount you would like to donate. Checks should be mailed to Dave Broman, 1866 Gorge Park Blvd., Stow. Tom Hall and Dave are now the stewards of our bank account at Hometown Bank in Kent. All received check donations will be deposited in this account and used toward expenses for the Birthday Bash weekend.
The Birthday Bash will be a potluck event. Based upon your last name, you can bring to the potluck the following:
- Appetizers A-E
- Finger Food F-J
- Bagged Snacks K-O
- Drinks P-T (Pop etc.) (There is a bar at this venue for your adult beverages.) Salads U-Z
- We came up with this as a way to spread out the variety of the potluck dishes. Will there be a “Potluck Police” at the door…….NO. So THANK YOU for bringing that which you bring! You can buy adult beverages at the American Legion accordingly.
We will have cupcakes, (including regular, sugar-free and gluten-free) so we are not asking for desserts.
We will provide blank nametags at this event, since you are not required to pay
to attend. If you attended the 50th Reunion and still have your nametag, please
feel free to wear that for this 70th Birthday Bash weekend! Makes sense to have
those for both Friday at the Kent gazebo and Saturday at the American Legion.

years!
After the “70th Birthday Bash” the City of Kent Blues Fest!
Great music, special prizes, laughter and FUN!!! Also fellow classmate

miss this!
The 15th Annual Kent Blues Fest will conclude our Saturday events. You can

getting the word out to our fellow classmates is greatly appreciated! We could
not do this without the invaluable support that you provided!
This will again be a great time for all of us to socialize, laugh and enjoy
reminiscing and celebrating the Kent Roosevelt and Kent State University
