Streetsboro’s Parks and Recreation Department is hoping to increase rental fees for baseball, softball and soccer fields. The city’s outdoor sand volleyball and outdoor basketball courts would only be available for approved tournaments at $200 per day.
These changes are now before Streetsboro City Council, which will consider the department’s proposal at tonight’s meeting.
Here’s a detailed overview of the provisions in the proposed contract:
- Baseball and softball field rentals for single games would increase from $35 to $50, and the fee for Field 7 (a lighted field) would go from $85 to $100 for a single game. There will also be a $35 fee for team practice on baseball and softball fields. Bases will be provided, but the fields will not be prepped.
- Prices for the city’s large, medium and small soccer fields for single games will not change from the current respective fees of $145, $105 and $75. The fields will be freshly painted.
- If you want to rent more than four fields for tournaments, you would now have to provide a $50 non-refundable deposit per field or court, payable at the time of the request.
- Daily rates (defined as five hours or more) for the city’s baseball or softball fields will increase from $100 to $150 per day. Daily rates for soccer fields will increase from $100 to $150.
- Only approved tournaments will be allowed at Streetsboro’s sand volleyball courts and outdoor basketball courts, with a $200 daily price tag for use of both courts. There will be no hourly or block rentals for Streetsboro’s sand volleyball or outdoor basketball courts.
