Portage County Transportation Job Fair scheduled for March 27

- Wendy DiAlesandro ,

To combat a shortage of skilled drivers, Portage County Job & Family Services will host a Transportation Job Fair from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 27 at the county’s OhioMeansJobs office at 253 S. Chestnut St. in Ravenna.

Attendees will meet with representatives from transportation companies, explore diverse career paths, participate in on-the-spot job interviews and learn about training programs, including eligibility requirements for free training programs.

The fair is open to people with all levels of experience, including none at all.

Participants should come prepared with resumes to distribute to potential employers. People in need of career services like resume writing and mock interviewing may visit the OhioMeansJobs Portage County Resource Room, 253 S. Chestnut St. in Ravenna, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.

For more information about the fair, please contact Patricia Wade at Patricia.Wade@jfs.ohio.gov. Transportation employers or training providers interested in hosting a table should also contact Wade.
