Laura Parker
Laura Parker had the audacity to die on May 1, 2026 due to complications from pneumonia. At this point we believed she was invincible. She leaves behind husband Ken Parker to whom she had the misfortune of marrying twice (her own fault) and being with for 45 and a half years. She had two biological children who have been left to deal with their dad, Tyler Parker (Christina Parker) and Kassie Parker (Dean Eshleman). In addition to them, she is leaving behind hundreds if not thousands of (unofficially) adopted children. Any one could count on her to be Mom at the drop of a hat no matter what was going on with her.
Laura loved growing up in Mantua with her parents John and Peggy and sisters Sherry and Shelly. She would recall walking everywhere barefoot, including knocking ice out of frozen puddles. Her first job was working at Hammel's grocery store where she would learn everybody's name, pass out hugs, and take advantage of playing with all the babies that wandered in with their parents. She loved retail, eventually becoming a successful manager of the Circle K store in Mantua. In a turn of career, she spent several years doing resident care at the Hattie Larlham Foundation where she worked with over one hundred twenty residents, memorizing each resident's history, passing out care and hugs. She eventually made her way to Portage Medical Center where she worked third shift. She especially liked working with older patients in honor of her grandfather's memory.
Laura lost her mom Peggy at a young age and some years later her father John married Terri Parker. Through that marriage Laura joyfully gained two more sisters Martha and Mary and a brother Jim. With them came even more nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved!
The celebration of Laura's life will be held at Mantua Center Christian Church on June 20th. The receiving line will start at 11 a.m with a service and lunch reception to follow. We will be inviting anyone who would like to say something about Laura to please keep it just like her, short and sweet. Please DO NOT wear black and instead wear lots of colors! Laura loved purple and green in particular. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Kids Weekend Meals at the Mantua Center Christian Church or to the Trevor Project.
We will miss you forever, Mom. Stay mean, rotten, and ornery you absolute badass b**ch!

Kathleen A. (Minnick) Holley, age 80 of Randolph, passed away May 11, 2026, at her home following a prolonged illness. She was born April 19, 1946, in Lorain, Ohio, to parents Donald F. and Bessie (Ridenour) Minnick Sr. She was affectionately known as Kathy to her family and friends.

Nancy Lee (Germany) Reinker, 91, a longtime resident of Kent, departed this life on May 11, 2026. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Gerald "Jerry" Zucchero
Gerald “Jerry” Zucchero, 88, of Kent, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 in the comfort of his home, with his family by his side. He was born in Alliance, OH on April 10, 1938 to the late Samuel J. and Alice K. Zucchero and was a 1957 graduate of Alliance High School.
