Ann Marie Bauer

Ann Marie Bauer of Kent, Ohio died peacefully at the age of 55 on June 28th 2024 at The James Cancer Hospital, Columbus OH, after battling multiple forms of leukemia. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Ann dedicated 30-years as a beloved faculty member at Solon City Schools, where she served as a licensed school psychologist. Known for her kindness, compassion, and respect, she was a model colleague, a mentor to newcomers in the profession, and a dedicated advocate for vulnerable children and their families.
Ann inspired everyone she met with her positive energy and endless charm. She embraced a sense of wonder and curiosity in all she did, appreciating always the beauty of life. A lifelong athlete, Ann enjoyed organizing family and friends for ski trips, bike rides, kayaking, and hiking. During the pandemic, she turned her passion for yoga into becoming a certified yoga instructor. She loved to travel with her family and was passionate about the outdoors. Ann had a deep love for music, international film festivals, the people of the Newfoundland Outport of Herring Neck, and food from diverse cultures around the world. Ann was active in her community, serving as a Big Sister, and a new (but fully involved) member of the League of Women Voters. Above all, she cherished her roles as a devoted wife and mother, taking immense pride in her two sons.
Ann is survived by husband Caven Mcloughlin, sons Thai and Liam Mcloughlin, parents Carl and Coletta Bauer, and brothers Carl, Jr. (Melissa Rocci) and Christopher (Gary Feterle), as well as her extended family, all of whom she loved and who in turn loved her so very dearly. Her huge circle of friends from around the world mourn her deeply.
Her family is comforted by the outpouring of compassion from friends and family across the globe. While Ann will be missed forever, her spirit will continue to shine fiercely in the lives of all who were fortunate to know her. Ann’s mantra: “Be just, just be.”
A Celebration of the Life of Ann Marie Bauer will be held at Michael Angelo’s Winery [5515 Broadview Rd, Richfield, OH 44286; 440-523-8038] on Sunday, October 20th from 2-5 pm.
