I have some excellent novels and one nonfiction recommendation for you about women who changed lives or whose lives were changed by others. Three deal with women who have been mistreated by society because of “the America Plan,” our country’s eugenics program in the early 1900s.
“The Book Club for Troublesome Women” by Marie Bostwick is set in a Virginia suburb in 1963. It’s a time of societal change, but a woman still can’t open a bank account without her husband’s permission.
